What a fantastic day.. Sunday the 11th July, ended with an upset as England lost in the Euro Finals - but before that we were lucky enough to be apart of The Hydra Ride!
A charity event sportive, only into its second edition - due to the persuasive policies brought in by the pandemic - the event had attracted double the first edition saw complete the dubbed 'Toblerone route' due to its intense climbing elevation.
We arrived at 6am, to get our exhibition set up ready for registration which opened up at 7am, we brought along a 'taste test & take free' set up across NamedSport> products mainly focusing on Energy bars & gels and protein bars. We sell the full range in store and wanted to bring a selection for riders to come up, check the tastes and then take a few away with them to use on the ride! We had great feedback from the event riders who tried the samples giving us a good response on flavour and actual working effect.
We also hosted a competition, which is live until Saturday 17th July for people to enter who rode the event, to win £150 worth of Assos clothing, £50 worth of session with Diamond Pro Cure Sports Therapy & a Swindon Cycles "ForEveryCyclist" T-shirt ! The competition is a social media driven competition, all you have to do to enter is:
A) Completed the Hydra Event.
B) On Instagram, Like and follow these four accounts - @Swindon_Cycles @thehydraride @diamond_pro_cure @assosofswitzerland
C) Post a positive cycling video or image tagging all four accounts previously liked, with a focus on the Hydra Ride event!
Competition winner will be announced in the evening of Sunday 19th July.
