TSC RIDER TAKES ON SOUTH REGIONAL CX CHAMPIONSHIPS

Team Rider Myles J Thwaites was racing between the tape in the recent local South Regional CX Championships, hosted and organised by Andy Smith Events, located at Fox Hill - a well known motor cross venue!

After the racing Myles sent us this race report:

"Having not raced enough to get a place on the grid I started almost on the back line, which kind of helped as I didn’t get a great start not being able to clip my left shoe in, luckily the 1st part of the course was a fast straight so I made up for the poor start, moving up the field. Now for the hard very technical part of the course.

Having attempted to ride the off camber in practice and nearly end up going head first down the bank, I decided I would get off and run these parts, which I need more practice getting on and off the bike, the running part I had a bit of practice with in my last 2 races. Chasing another rider that got caught in the lane tape which pulled him off, I managed to stop before running him and his bike over, but I did have to get going again.

At around 30 mins into the race it decided to start raining, I say raining but if felt a bit more like hail. Not long after this the 1st rider came past, I was lapped but I had held on a lot longer today than before getting lapped which was a bonus. There now was a small group of us racing, of which I was at the back hoping to catch them on the straight to the finish line, one rider looked to be a little too far ahead, but as we came into the straight I went for It quite quickly got past the rider in front and kept going the rider that looked to far ahead must have sat up thinking he was ok, I got ahead by about a 1ft on the line.

I was lapped again but you never know I will get to the point where I don’t get lapped (Hopefully) and I think I was 40th which is a lot better than 3rd from last".

Myles finished in 40th place out of 57 riders in the Vet 40-49 category!

The event looked like a great day out with over 200 riders across different categories, from youth to Senior competitors.
